Recruitment FAQ and HR tips

Our tips for a successful interview

Interviews aren’t always easy. Walibi wants to give you the opportunity to introduce yourself and be heard. Here are some tips to help you increase your chances of joining our community.

Prepare your written application and video

Make sure your CV is clear and well structured, so we can see your skills and experience at a glance. You don’t need a cover letter to apply at Walibi Belgium and Aqualibi. Instead, we want to give you the chance to introduce yourself and tell us what motivates you in a short video presentation. Strong people skills are very important in our park, which is why we have chosen this quick – and hopefully more fun – approach. And don’t worry: you don’t need to be a professional videographer to apply. A simple video introducing yourself is more than enough.

Prepare your interview

Walibi prefers in-person interviews. Before the interview, think about your strengths and prepare some examples. Finally, check out the Walibi Belgium and Aqualibi websites to learn more about the company and the position you’re applying for, and show us that you are genuinely interested!

Be yourself

Walibi Belgium and Aqualibi value diverse profiles and personalities, whether it’s in front-line roles or support roles. We want to find a role that suits you. Above all, we are looking for someone genuine and enthusiastic, with a real willingness to help create the best possible experience for our visitors. Show us who you truly are, and we’ll find the perfect position for you.

Our recruitment process

Walibi’s recruitment process varies according to the position and job category. Here’s an overview of the main recruitment campaigns and stages:

Every year, in preparation for the park’s reopening, we run a recruitment campaign, which begins in mid-December with the publication of job postings. Applications close at the end of January, while interviews with shortlisted candidates take place in February.

  • Training: Successful candidates will then take part in a certification training programme run in partnership with the Forem Tourism Skills Centre.
  • Contract start date: Once you have completed this course, your contract with Walibi will begin.

Each year, Walibi and Aqualibi offer more than 1,200 student contracts. To apply, send us a short introduction video and your CV – both are required. Depending on our needs, you’ll be invited to a recruitment session. After this stage, you may be selected to join one of our teams.

Our process for permanent positions consists of two stages:

1. A semi-structured interview, done following the STARR method, which allows us to evaluate your skills and experience.

STARR method:

  • SITUATION: Set the scene. What happened?
  • TASK: State your goal. How did you need to handle the situation?
  • ACTION: Detail what you did. How did you deal with it?
  • RESULT: Share the outcome. What happened because of your actions?
  • REFLECTION: Explain what you learned. What could you have done differently?

2. Personality and skills tests, designed to better understand how you work and to confirm your suitability for the position.

Our Halloween-themed recruitment campaign starts during the summer months (July-August). The process consists of two stages: an individual interview to learn more about you, and a stage audition, which is a role-playing exercise to evaluate your acting ability.
